Bogohack is an innovation laboratory where anyone receives knowledge, training, and practical tools to develop their ideas, from open hardware and software to decentralized systems and game mechanics.
We are more than a makerspace or educational lab, we are a growing tech community that explores how innovation can be used for social impact. Our projects include open-source development, interactive design, and even the study of casino-related technologies such as blockchain-based games, probability engines, and gamification frameworks that promote critical thinking and responsible engagement.
We believe technology should not only serve consumers, but also empower them. Whether it's through a 3D printer, a data visualization dashboard, or a fair-play gaming algorithm, our goal is to help people learn, build, and rethink how systems work — including those behind digital entertainment and gaming.
Co-founder and C.E.O. of Bogohack, Víctor is a designer and builder of electro-mechanical systems with over 10 years of experience in open-source hardware, prototyping, and grassroots tech education.
In recent years, he has led experimental projects exploring casino infrastructure from a technological and ethical perspective, such as building open-source random number generators, testing physical entropy devices, and simulating the logic of slot machines and roulette wheels for educational use.
His workshops introduce participants to the math behind gambling systems, blockchain fairness audits, and how to demystify casino algorithms using tools like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and 3D-printed mechanics.
He is a strong advocate for transparent gaming technologies that teach probability, ethics, and digital rights, especially in regions where online platforms lack regulatory oversight.
He is an educator, activist, futurist, hacker and maker. He is co-founder of Bogohack, an Open-Source hardware company that pioneered 3D printing technology. He founded I Paid a Bribe, an initiative to study the phenomenon of corruption through anonymous reporting. He organizes Kids Hack Day Bogotá, a movement to empower children with technological creativity. He is a member of the athon H(app)committee, where he studies happiness. At the National Consulting Center he developed a research project working on topics of happiness and corruption.
In recent years, Juan Pablo has extended his research into the psychology of gaming systems, especially those used in casinos and digital entertainment platforms. He studies how slot machine mechanics, reward loops, and house-edge algorithms affect behavior, and how these mechanics are being replicated in non-casino apps, from education to e-commerce. His work promotes transparency and fairness in algorithmic systems, and he collaborates on blockchain-based experiments in provably fair play and decentralized jackpots.
He has been the organizer of several TEDx events in Colombia including TEDxCeiba, TEDxBogotá, and TEDxGuatavita, where he shares insights on how gaming logic, ethics, and open tech intersect to shape the future of interaction.
